Tony Parker is a six-time NBA All-Star, four-time NBA champion and was the 2007 NBA Finals MVP. It’s safe to say he’s earned a night with the Larry O’Brien Trophy at his house.

But that didn’t stop him from taking it without telling anyone.

The San Antonio Spurs forward appeared on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” after his team won the 2013-14 NBA Championship and explained how and why he stole the trophy.

“I wanted to keep the trophy for a night, so I left with it, and everyone was calling me like ‘Tony did you take the trophy?’ and I’m like ‘Yeah, yeah I’ll bring it back tomorrow,'” Parker said. “I just wanted to take a picture with (my newborn son) Josh. I wanted to have a good memory, so I took it.”

Parker’s fiancée, French journalist Axelle Francine, gave birth to their son during the NBA playoffs. Parker also said that this was his favorite NBA Championship victory, so it makes sense that he’d want that photo.
