For Boston Red Sox fans who have been anxious to see top prospect Mookie Betts in the majors, that time might come sooner rather than later.
While there’s still no timetable on a call-up for Betts, more signs are pointing to an eventual appearance with Boston this season.
Betts has only played 22 games with Triple-A Pawtucket this year, but he’s been moving up steadily in the ranks. Not to mention, he’s been playing mostly in right field for the PawSox rather than his usual second base position.
With right fielder Shane Victorino shut down from baseball activities, Betts’ services might become a necessity in the near future.
