Waffle HouseAt any other time, Belgian waffles are widely considered to be a tasty breakfast treat.

This isn’t any other time.

The U.S. men’s soccer team will take on Belgium in a huge Round of 16 matchup Tuesday at the 2014 FIFA World Cup. The fine employees of Waffle House know this, and they’re doing everything they can to help the American cause.

On the eve of USA-Belgium, the breakfast chain decided to show some national pride by officially denouncing a staple of Belgian cuisine.

Waffle House took their support of America one step further in a statement to TMZ, telling all Americans to boycott Belgian waffles before the U.S. takes on the Red Devils.

“We support America. We don’t support Belgian Waffles,” a Waffle House spokesman said Monday.

The proud American chain doesn’t offer Belgian waffles on its menu, of course, and has made it very clear what it believes is the superior breakfast item.
