Wes.WelkerDenver Broncos wide receiver Wes Welker wasn’t lying when he said he had no intention of returning the extra $15,000 that Churchill Downs gave him at the Kentucky Derby in May.

Welker told The Sports Hub’s “Toucher & Rich” that he didn’t pay back the extra money. Welker received $57,193.90, when he should have been awarded just $42,295.35.

“They called me afterwards,” Welker said Friday. “I don’t know. I never returned that phone call.”

Welker also explained he was giving out $100 bills to fans who wanted autographs because he didn’t have time to sign for them. Welker said he gave out $500 or $600 in $100 bills.
