Outfielder Austin Jackson won’t ever forget where he was or what he was doing the moment he learned he was traded.
Jackson was traded to the Seattle Mariners as part of a three-team deal that brought David Price to the Detroit Tigers just minutes before the 4 p.m. EST trade deadline. The only problem with the blockbuster trade, though, was that Jackson was a little preoccupied with playing a baseball game.
During the seventh inning of Thursday’s game against the Chicago White Sox, Tigers general manager Dave Dombrowski walked into the dugout and informed Brad Ausmus that Jackson had been traded to the Seattle Mariners. Ausmus quickly called time in the middle of an at-bat to replace Jackson with Rajai Davis, and the Detroit crowd immediately picked up on what was happening.
The Detroit faithful gave Jackson a memorable exit, as he walked off to a standing ovation.

Once Jackson returned to the dugout, he had time only to give out a few hugs and say a brief farewell to his soon-to-be former teammates before leaving to join his new club.
