Cliff Lee’s fastball sat only around 90 mph on the radar gun on Monday night, but the veteran left-handed pitcher had plenty of gas after the game.

Lee made his first start since April on Monday when he took the hill against the San Francisco Giants. He was far from sharp, as Lee surrendered six runs on 12 hits in 5 2/3 innings of work. He did so in front of plenty of scouts, as the Phillies reportedly are willing to deal Lee at the trade deadline.

The southpaw was also pretty popular after the game, as he met with a group of media to discuss his return from injury. The most newsworthy development came from Lee’s “other end” as the gathering came to an end.

One member of the media apparently took the toot as a challenge.

Unfortunately, that war might be over before it really has a chance to begin. Despite Lee’s stinky performance both on and off the field, he still figures to be a valuable commodity for a potential contender as July 31 nears.
