College football is receiving a postseason overhaul starting this fall, and that means a new trophy is needed. We now know what that new piece of hardware will look like.

The new trophy was unveiled on the official Twitter account of the College Football Playoff on Monday morning. The trophy, which will be given to the national champions, is quite the departure from the previous crystal football trophy which was given to the BCS champs.

The new playoff system will be ushered in this season. The selection committee will decide the top four teams in the nation, and those teams will square off in the national semifinals. The two winners will then meet in the national championship for the right to hoist the new trophy.

The crystal football isn’t completely going away, though. That trophy will be given to the No. 1 team in the final Amway Coaches Poll.
