Unhappy about the Boston Red Sox’s 2014 season?

Well, it could be worse. You could be a fan of the Chicago Cubs.

The Cubs are in last place and are headed for a sixth straight season without October baseball.

In the first inning of Friday’s game against the St. Louis Cardinals, Jon Jay hit a ball deep down the left field line that Cubs outfielder Chris Coghlan couldn’t field cleanly, and it didn’t help that he lost sight of it momentarily.

His relay throw went to shortstop Starlin Castro, who lost control of it immediately and wasn’t able to throw home.

This mess in the outfield allowed two runs to score, giving the Cardinals a 3-0 lead.

Check out the play in the GIF below.
