Darrelle Revis unquestionably is one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL, but he hasn’t been able to turn his individual success into team glory yet.

That was Revis’ prime concern as he entered free agency for the second time during his seven-year NFL career. Revis signed a one-year, $12 million contract this offseason to win a Super Bowl with the New England Patriots.

“I think that was the No. 1 priority,” Revis told ESPN’s Ed Werder in a recent sit-down interview at the Drew Brees Passing Academy at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Kissimmee, Fla. “After I got released by Tampa Bay, was to go down the list of teams and see what’s the best opportunity for me to win. Every player in this league, that I can speak for, we all want to win a championship. That’s why we play this game. I thought the New England Patriots probably were the best fit for me.”

Revis is 41-41 in 82 career games with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and New York Jets. His teams made the playoffs twice but didn’t advance past the AFC Championship Game.
