Christian Vazquez likely has a lot on his plate these days since getting the call to the Boston Red Sox from Triple-A Pawtucket on Wednesday.
Luckily for Vazquez, he has the benefit of a veteran presence at his position.
37-year-old catcher David Ross has seen a lot over his 13 major league seasons, so he’s in a great position to act as a mentor to the 23-year-old Vazquez.
Ross got to work with Vazquez in spring training and saw the young catcher drive in three runs in his second big-league game on Friday.
After the game, Ross spoke with Jamie Erdahl about his initial impression of Vazquez and the advice he’s been able to pass on to the catcher so far. Hear what he had to say in the video above.
