David Ross: ‘We’re Going To Be Better Off Having (Vazquez)’ (Video)

At 37 years old, there was only so much more that Boston Red Sox catcher A.J. Pierzynski could do for the team.

That’s why the Red Sox decided to look forward and call up catching prospect Christian Vazquez from Triple-A Pawtucket while designating Pierzynski for assignment.

The move should pay off for the Sox in the long run, and catcher David Ross agrees. Ross has already started to show Vazquez the ropes and said that Boston is “going to be better off having” Vazquez.

Aetna Strikeouts for A Cause

For every strikeout by a Red Sox pitcher at Fenway Park in June, Aetna will donate $250 to Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program. Through June 25, the donation mark stands at $30,000.

Through their continued efforts in the local community, Aetna is helping to build a healthier world -- one city and one strikeout at a time.
