Tomas Tatar, Detroit Red Wings Agree On Three-Year, $8.25M Contract

1396042158_tatarDETROIT — The Red Wings have agreed to a three-year contract with left wing Tomas Tatar, who was second on the team in goals last season.

Tatar’s deal, which was announced Monday, is worth $2.75 million per year.

The 23-year-old forward had 19 goals and 20 assists in 73 games in his first full NHL season. Only Gustav Nyquist scored more goals for Detroit with 28.

Tatar has 24 goals and 23 assists in 100 career games with the Red Wings.

Tatar represented Slovakia at last year’s Olympics in Sochi. He was drafted by the Red Wings in the second round in 2009.
