Boston Red Sox starting pitcher Jake Peavy has the worst luck.
Boston’s 7-3 loss to the Toronto Blue Jays on Tuesday put another L on Peavy’s record, which now stands at 1-9. And it’s not for lack of effort on Peavy’s part. His 2.91 average run support was the lowest in the American League going into Tuesday’s game, and his team only made that worse, as they failed to score a run while he was on the mound.
“We haven’t scored runs for him, and that’s the bottom line,” second baseman Dustin Pedroia said. “But he’s kept us in every game and competed, that’s what he does. He’s a bulldog out there.”
