Dustin Pedroia Looks To Join Red Sox Hit Parade Against J.A. Happ, Blue Jays

Dustin PedroiaThe Boston Red Sox offense exploded for 14 runs and 17 hits in their best offensive showing of the season on Monday night. One member of the Sox, however, was on the outside looking in when it came to Boston’s offensive party.

The Red Sox second baseman was the only Boston starter who didn’t record a hit in the blowout win, and he’s in the middle of a pretty nasty slump. Pedroia is hitless in his last three games, and he’s hitting just .063 (1-for-16) since the All-Star break.

A day off might be on the horizon at some point, but that won’t come Tuesday night. Pedroia is in the lineup, and he’ll look to snap the skid against Toronto Blue Jays left-handed starter J.A. Happ. Pedroia has had success against Happ in the past, going 4-for-10 in his career against the southpaw.

Shane Victorino is also back in the Red Sox lineup after getting the night off in the series opener on Monday.

The Red Sox will turn to Jake Peavy in their quest to push their winning streak to six games. Peavy recorded his lone win of the season on April 25 when he allowed just one run over seven innings against Toronto at Rogers Centre.
