Former Bucks Owner Herb Kohl Still Giving Out Checks To Team Employees

Herb Kohl is one generous man.

The former Milwaukee Bucks owner and U.S. Senator sold the team months ago, but he’s still dishing out checks to team employees.

These checks aren’t paltry amounts by any means, either.

Gary Woelfel of the Racine Journal-Times reports that Kohl is sending checks ranging between $40,000 to $100,000 to Bucks employees from secretaries to sales personnel.

Kohl’s generosity comes after he sent a parting gift to every Bradley Center employee in May, ensured the Bucks would stay in Milwaukee by selling to committed owners who planned to keep the team in Wisconsin and set aside an additional $100 million towards the development of a new arena in downtown Milwaukee.

The 79-year-old Kohl bought the team in 1985 for just $18 million and sold the team in April for $550 million to a pair of New York investors, Marc Lasry and Wesley Edens.

Now, he’s using the return on his investment to help the Milwaukee community in pretty much every way possible.

Yeah, this guy is pretty much a saint, which is a word rarely used to describe politicians and — especially these days — NBA owners.
