Houston Astros rookie George Springer added another highlight to his already packed 2014 reel.

Springer, who has 19 home runs and 50 RBI’s in his first 74 games in the majors, showed Wednesday night that he’s not just an offensive threat. The 24-year-old UConn product made a leaping catch while crashing into the wall during the bottom of the third inning against the Texas Rangers, robbing Alex Rios of extra bases.

Springer covered a lot of ground before glancing back at the last second to locate the wall, then was able to brace himself for the punishing contact his body took.

Job well done.
