BOSTON — Jackie Bradley Jr. added to his Gold Glove candidacy Wednesday night at Fenway Park.

Bradley made an insane diving catch in the second inning of the Red Sox’s improbable comeback win over the Chicago White Sox. He robbed Tyler Flowers of extra bases and prevented a run from scoring, which was important because the Red Sox later rallied for a walk-off victory.

“I don’t want to say we’re taking anything for granted, but I think at this point in time, we’re not completely surprised by plays like that,” Red Sox manager John Farrell said after the win. ” … Just an outstanding center fielder defensively.”

Bradley certainly has shown off both his range and his incredible throwing arm this season. His offense obviously is a work in progress, but his defense already is among Major League Baseball’s elite. Wednesday’s play further proved that.
