The Red Sox have won seven of their last eight games but they still have plenty of work to do to get back in the thick of things in the American League East.
That could change in just two weeks, though, as the Red Sox take on AL East rivals in their next 13 games.
Jonny Gomes, however, said before the Red Sox series opener against the Toronto Blue Jays that he is only looking at the schedule one game at a time. He also talked about how playing on turf over the next seven games in Toronto and Tampa Bay can be advantageous for the team.
The Red Sox have averaged 4.3 runs per game in their six games on turf this season. That’s a half run better than their season average.
