Kurt Angle Makes ‘Sharknado 2’ Appearance, Doesn’t Put Anyone In Ankle Lock

The Internet was abuzz Wednesday night and for all the wrong reasons. Anyone who spent even a minute on Twitter quickly was reminded that Wednesday night was Sharknado night.

The debut of “Sharknado 2: The Second One” had many people talking — and many people making fun of the ridiculous sequel to the equally ridiculous 2013 film. The second go-around featured a “star”-studded cast of has-beens and washed-up celebrities, which seemed to go hand in hand with the absurd plot of a shark-filled tornado ravaging cities.

One of the B-list celebrities making a cameo in the sequel was none other than pro wrestler Kurt Angle. The 45-year-old currently is wrestling in the fledgling TNA, but he spent a handful of good years in the WWF/WWE. Coincidentally, Thursday actually also marks the 18-year anniversary of Angle winning the gold medal in freestyle wrestling (real wrestling) at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta.

Angle’s no stranger to acting, either, as he has appeared or will appear in more than 10 movies or TV shows.

His appearance in “Sharknado 2” was an instant hit on Twitter, and it inspired some A+ tweets.

Unfortunately, however, Angle didn’t deliver his trademark Angle slam or ankle lock to any sharks, perhaps for good reason.

Angle’s cameo wasn’t the only sports connection. The New York Mets were also prominently featured.
