Following the Boston Red Sox’s 7-6 loss to the Baltimore Orioles on Sunday, starting pitcher Jon Lester received some good news, as he was selected to his third All-Star Game.
Lester will be the lone Red Sox player to represent the team in the Midsummer Classic on July 15 at Target Field in Minnesota.
“I’m obviously honored,”Lester said after the game. “It’s a big honor to represent the Red Sox and get to go to the All-Star game.”
Lester has a 122-29 strikeout-to-walk ratio, and despite a 9-7 record, he boasts a 2.73 ERA and has won five of his last six decisions.
