Brendan Rodgers has been here before.
The Liverpool manager took over the English Premier League club in 2012, just before the Reds headed overseas to Fenway Park in Boston to take on Italy’s AS Roma in the first installment of “Football at Fenway.”
A lot has changed since then, as Rodgers has turned Liverpool’s fortunes around in the form of a second-place finish in the English Premier League in 2013-14 and a berth in the 2014-15 UEFA Champions League.
As Rodgers points out, however, one thing hasn’t changed over last two years — the beloved ballpark that the Boston Red Sox call home.
“There’s a real sense of nostalgia coming back (to Fenway Park),” Rodgers said during a news conference Tuesday. “It’s an iconic stadium.”
Liverpool will hope to make this trip a positive one when it plays Roma on Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m. Hear more from Rodgers about how the team is preparing in the video above.
