MLB All-Star Game Lineups: Felix Hernandez, Adam Wainwright Start On Mound

Felix HernandezFans won’t have to wait long to see Derek Jeter stride to the plate in his final Major League Baseball All-Star Game.

The New York Yankees shortstop will lead off for the American League on Tuesday night at Target Field in Minnesota, Boston Red Sox manager John Farrell announced. Farrell and St. Louis Cardinals manager Mike Matheny, who’s overseeing the National League, both revealed their starting lineups and starting pitchers during a news conference before Monday’s workouts.

Farrell announced that Seattle Mariners ace Felix Hernandez will get the ball as the AL starter, and Matheny will go with one of his own pitchers, as Cardinals right-hander Adam Wainwright will start for the NL.

Matheny also will insert Miami Marlins outfielder Giancarlo Stanton into the NL’s lineup as the designated hitter.
