Shane VictorinoShane Victorino could take his latest rehab assignment to a familiar place.

The Boston Red Sox outfielder is expected to play Sunday in the “Futures at Fenway” game with the Single-A Lowell Spinners, MLB.com reported.

Victorino, who has been on the disabled list since May 23 with a hamstring injury, was supposed to play with Double-A Portland on Saturday, but the Red Sox medical staff held him out of the game. The team said Victorino didn’t have “increased symptoms.”

The game would have been the outfielder’s third consecutive since he restarted his rehab Thursday. He was 0-for-4 combined in his previous two games with the Spinners. Sunday’s game against the Mahoning Valley Scrappers starts at 3:30 p.m.

Victorino was hitting .242 for the Red Sox before landing on the DL. He has played in 10 games with Lowell and Triple-A Pawtucket and has only one hit in 28 at-bats.
