The Los Angeles Lakers won’t stand still, even if LeBron James’ announcement that he’s returning to Cleveland is overshadowing their day.

The Houston Rockets traded guard Jeremy Lin and a future first-round draft pick to the Lakers on Friday, according to multiple reports. Lin has one year left on his contract, which will preserve salary cap space for the Lakers next summer. It wasn’t reported what the Rockets received in the deal.

The Lakers weren’t done there, however, as they re-signed Nick Young and Jordan Hill.

Young and the Lakers agreed to a four-year deal worth $21.5 million, according to multiple reports. The 29-year-old guard scored a career-high 17.9 points per game last season.

Hill was next to agree to return, striking a two-year, $18 million deal, his agent, Kevin Bradbury, told Yahoo! Sports. The forward put up 9.7 points and 7.4 rebounds per game last season.

Perhaps the most important news surrounding the Lakers, however, is a deal they haven’t made.

The New York Knicks have expressed interest in adding Gasol, and the San Antonio Spurs also have been floating around as a possible destination for the 34-year-old big man.

Update — July 12, 10 a.m.: Lin’s agent, Roger Montgomery, confirmed Lin’s move to Los Angeles Friday night, saying that Lin was “thrilled” to play with the Lakers and Kobe Bryant.
