joeaNew England pro athletes and celebrities teed off Monday at Pinehills Golf Club in Plymouth, Mass., to raise money for cancer patients and their families at the Sixth Annual Joe Andruzzi & Friends Golf Tournament.

Hosted by three-time Super Bowl champion and cancer survivor Joe Andruzzi, his wife and Joe Andruzzi Foundation executive director Jen Andruzzi, and Patriots co-captain Matthew Slater, the tournament raised funds and awareness to support the foundation’s mission of providing help, hope and a reason to smile for patients and their families when it is needed most.

Proceeds from this year’s event — presented by JAF supporter East Commerce Solutions, Inc. — once again allowed the foundation to help alleviate cancer’s financial and emotional impact on patients, as well as fund critical pediatric brain cancer research at Boston Children’s Hospital.

Current and former players in attendance were Nate Solder, Tebucky Jones, Jerrod Mayo and Duran Harmon. Several celebrities, including John Ruiz, Kevin “Chappy” Chapman and Dave Russo, also came out to support the Foundation.
