Tampa Bay Rays fans didn’t want to see left-handed ace David Price shipped out before Thursday’s MLB trade deadline, butĀ alas, Price was sent to the Detroit TigersĀ in a blockbuster three-team trade.

The Rays acquired pitcher Drew Smyly and shortstop prospect Willy Adames from Detroit and infielder Nick Franklin from the Seattle Mariners. Seattle acquired outfielder Austin Jackson from the Tigers in the deal.

Many Rays fans weren’t happy with the results of the trade, and Tampa Bay’s Fox televisionĀ affiliate sent out the following tweetĀ as its form of consolation.

Needless to say, Detroit fans didn’t appreciate the awful jab at the unfortunate state of parts of their city. The station removed the tweet and apologized, but not before Detroit’s Fox affiliate got in on the action.
