BOSTON — Soccer fans new and old still have the chance to see two of Europe’s best clubs face off at Fenway Park next week.
Liverpool FC and AS Roma will play at Fenway Park on Wednesday, July 23 at 7:30 p.m. ET.
Fans with disabilities also may call (877) RED-SOX9 to purchase accessible seating. The Red Sox’s TTY number for hearing-impaired fans is (617) 226-6644.
The clubs last squared off at Fenway on July 25, 2012, before a sold-out crowd of more than 37,000 fans. AS Roma defeated Liverpool 2-1, and the Reds can exact revenge by winning next week’s game.
As was the case in 2012, Fenway Park will be divided into neutral, AS Roma and Liverpool FC supporter sections, with the Liverpool “Kop” recreated in the bleachers and right field.
Liverpool’s highly anticipated return to Fenway marks the start of the team’s 2014 preseason tour, which includes International Champions Cup games in Chicago, New York and Charlotte. The tour aims to engage U.S.-based fans and offer them better access to the club they love. In addition to games in each of the four U.S. cities, Liverpool FC will host player appearances and Liverpool FC Foundation community activities.
Founded in 1892, Liverpool FC is one of the world’s most historic and famous football clubs, having won 18 English League Titles, seven FA Cups, eight League Cups, five European Cups, three UEFA Cups, three European Super Cups and 15 Charity Shields.
AS Roma is based in Rome and competes in the world-renowned Italian Serie A League. Commonly referred to as the “Giallorossi,” or “Yellow Reds,” AS Roma has won three Serie A titles, nine Italian Cups and two Italian Super Cups.
