USA goalkeeper Tim Howard picked a heckuva time to play the game of his career. In the end, though, it wasn’t enough to help the Americans advance in the 2014 FIFA World Cup on Tuesday, as they were eliminated by Belgium.
At least Howard has his high-ranking government job to fall back on now.
After Howard’s sensational 16-save performance in the 2-1 extra-time loss to the Belgians, a Wikipedia page was changed to list him as the United States’ Secretary of Defense.
Get it? Defense because he’s a good keeper.
Howard’s 16 saves set a World Cup record, and he was one of the brightest spots for an American team that was outplayed for much of the game.
