Vince Carter, Grizzlies Agree To Reported Three-Year, $12.2M Contract

Vince CarterMEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Memphis Grizzlies have signed eight-time All-Star Vince Carter to a multiyear contract.

Carter averaged 11.9 points in 81 games, all off the bench, last season for the Dallas Mavericks. The 37-year-old guard has scored 20.2 points per game over his 16-year NBA career.

Sources told ESPN.com’s Marc Stein that the terms of the deal are for three years and $12.2 million.

Carter moved into 25th place on the NBA’s career scoring list last season, and the player once known best as a dunker also is now seventh all time in 3-pointers made. He led the league last season with 146 off the bench.

The Florida native also has played for the Toronto Raptors, New Jersey Nets, Orlando Magic and Phoenix Suns before winning a ring in 2011 with the Mavericks.
