Will Middlebrooks Restarts Rehab In Triple-A Pawtucket, Goes 1-For-3


Will MiddlebrooksAfter being shut down from baseball activities Friday due to swelling in his finger, third baseman Will Middlebrooks restarted his rehab with Triple-A Pawtucket on Tuesday.

Middlebrooks served as the PawSox’s designated hitter for seven innings, going 1-for-3 with a triple, one run scored and one strikeout. Middlebrooks was placed on the disabled list on May 17, and his return date is┬ástill unclear at this point.

Utility man┬áMike Carp also put in a rehab start with Pawtucket. He played first base for six innings and went 0-for-3 with a strikeout. Carp was placed on the DL on June 2 with a broken bone in his right foot. He’s 1-for-11 so far during his rehab stint.
