Will Middlebrooks Breaks Up No-Hit Bid As Red Sox Fall To Angels 2-0 (Video)

The Los Angeles Angels completed a four-game sweep of the Boston Red Sox on Thursday night at Fenway Park with a 2-0 win.

Angels pitcher Matt Shoemaker took a no-hitter into the seventh inning — before Red Sox third baseman Will Middlebrooks broke it up with a double — and earned his 12th win of the season.

Boston now has lost five games in a row and will welcome the Seattle Mariners to Fenway Park on Friday night for a three-game series. The Red Sox are expected to send Joe Kelly to the mound, while the Mariners likely will use ace Felix Hernandez.

Aetna Strikeouts for A Cause

For every strikeout by a Red Sox pitcher at Fenway Park in June, Aetna will donate $250 to Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program. Through June 25, the donation mark stands at $30,000.

Through their continued efforts in the local community, Aetna is helping to build a healthier world -- one city and one strikeout at a time.
