A Twitter campaign engineered by Florida State University turned out to be a massive PR fail for the school.
The campaign called upon Twitter users to ask Seminoles quarterback Jameis Winston any question they wanted, with an #AskJameis hashtag accompanying the tweet.
Sounds pretty cool, right?
Except social media users took the opportunity to lambaste the Heisman Trophy winner with questions that mocked the controversial quarterback, who was investigated for sexually assaulting a female student last season and accused of stealing $32 worth of crab legs from a super market.
#AskJameis all jokes aside… what’s your favorite way to cook crab legs?

Maybe the Tallahassee police can hop on #AskJameis and finally question him.

These were just some of many snarky tweets aimed at Jameis.
At the end of the day, one has to ask why Florida State even launched a campaign surrounding an athlete that has come under fire twice within the last year.
Hopefully, this will be a good PR lesson for all.
