Michael Lombardi, Bill BelichickFOXBORO, Mass. — Bill Belichick has accepted John Mara’s challenge to complete the Ice Bucket Challenge.

Mara, the New York Giants president, challenged Belichick and New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft, to complete the task to raise awareness — and money — for ALS research. Belichick might not dump ice water on his head, as the challenge entails, but he plans to do something to contribute.

“I plan on doing something with it. We’ll take care of it,” Belichick said Monday on WEEI.

The Patriots head coach knows how much glee he would cause by dumping ice water on his head.

“I know there’s a lot of people who would like to dump ice water on me,” Belichick said.

“I’m certainly willing to support trying to find a cure for that and try to help people who have that disease. I’m 100 percent behind it.”
