Boston Bruins winger Brad Marchand got chilly for a good cause Sunday afternoon.

Marchand participated in the ice bucket challenge, a fundraising craze that is sweeping the Internet to raise awareness for various causes, after being challenged by teammate Gregory Campbell. Campbell and the Bruins are doing their part to raise awareness for ALS as the B’s center was challenged by a close friend of Pete Frates, a former Boston College baseball player who suffers from the disease.

Marchand was quick to accept the icy dare and he fully committed to it, too. Marchy not only dumped a rather large bucket of ice and water on his head, but he also had two buddies standing on a balcony above to deliver two more frigid blows.

We’ll likely be seeing a couple more Bruins get in on the act, with Marchand passing the torch to Torey Krug and Chris Kelly, as well as AHL defenseman Andrew Bodnarchuk and his brother Jeff Marchand.
