Brendan RodgersLiverpool remains on the hunt for a goal scorer.

On Sunday, Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers said his team is looking to sign another striker before the summer transfer window closes on Aug. 31.

“I do still think we need another striker,” Rodgers said at a news conference following Liverpool’s 2-1 win over Southampton to open the Premier League season, via Sky Sports. “It is something that we will look at, but that will depend on the availability of one. Sunday was about winning, and we got there.

“So we will search for that through to the end of the window, but you see the players, the quality that we have.”

Daniel Sturridge, Rickie Lambert and Fabio Borini are Liverpool’s current crop of center forwards, and the club is looking to bolster its attacking ranks and help offset the summer departure of last season’s leading scorer, Luis Suarez.

The Reds reportedly were close to signing Queens Park Rangers’ Loic Remy earlier this summer but pulled out of the deal. Monaco’s Radamel Falcao and Paris Saint-Germain’s Edinson Cavani are rumored to be among Rodgers’ latest transfer targets, according to the Mirror and the Mail.
