Chicago Cubs rookie infielder Javier Baez has made a big splash since entering the big leagues.
Baez hit the game-winning home run in his first-ever major league game, and followed that with a multihomer game.During his first game at historic Wrigley Field, Baez gave Cubs fans some hope for the future. He crushed a home run off Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Kyle Lohse that landed outside the ballpark and onto Waveland Avenue for his fourth home run in his first nine games.
The Boston Red Sox brought in Yoenis Cespedes for his power-hitting ability. He showcased that talent on Sunday against the Los Angeles Angels. Cespedes broke a scoreless tie in the eighth inning with a three-homer against side-arm reliever Joe Smith for his first home run in a Red Sox uniform. The blast proved to be the game-winner for the Red Sox in a thrilling contest.
The rest of this week’s homers include Chicago White slugger Adam Dunn’s shot into McCovey Cove in San Francisco, San Diego Padres outfielder Rymer Liriano’s first career home run and a walk-off home run from Zach Walters of the Cleveland Indians.
