Bills fans Buffalo Bills fans haven’t had much to cheer about since winning the AFC championship for four consecutive seasons in the early 1990s.

The team has failed to make the playoffs every year since 1999, and now fans have to worry about the possibility of Jon Bon Jovi moving their beloved team out of western New York.

With all of that said, it’s no surprise that Bills fans were voted the drunkest in the NFL by Sean MacDonald, the author of “The Ultimate Football Road Trip.”

MacDonald has seen a game at all 122 stadiums in the NFL, MLB, NBA and NHL and wrote about his in-game experiences. In his book, MacDonald covered everything, from hotels to parking, tickets, stadium aesthetics and fans. Based on what he saw, MacDonald considered Bills fans to be the drunkest of them all.

“Inside the stadium seemed like a free-for-all at times, with fans moving around constantly and far too many in the advanced stages of inebriation, especially in the lower level end zone seats,” MacDonald writes, according to Syracuse.com. “Beer was constantly being spilled on the concourse and stairways to the seats, making things that much more dangerous.”

MacDonald, who is a Bills fan, ranked Ralph Wilson Stadium 20th out of the 32 NFL stadiums, and the inebriated atmosphere might be the reason why it was so low.

So if anyone is thinking about catching a game there, it might be best to hold off on the beer and stay away from the rowdy (and usually upset) fans.
