It’s never easy being a rookie in Major League Baseball. Just about every aspect of the game is tougher at the highest level — even pleasing your own teammates.
Arizona Diamondbacks rookie Jake Lamb tore up the minor leagues with 37 home runs during a year and a half span. He was called up on Aug. 7 this season, and initially couldn’t find his power stroke. Finally on Saturday night, Lamb connected for his first big league homer.
But his team wasn’t too impressed.

The rest of the Diamondbacks gave Lamb the silent treatment when he came back to the dugout after circling the bases. He seemed prepared, though, and gave his imaginary pals some high-fives. Eventually, Lamb’s actual teammates came over to greet him on a job well done.
