New York Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter has added another milestone to his already historic career.

Jeter entered Saturday’s game against the Cleveland Indians tied with the legendary Honus Wagner for sixth place on the all-time hits list. With one out in the sixth inning, Jeter became the sole possessor of sixth place with an infield single.

Unlike his 3,000th hit, which was a home run off then-Tampa Bay Rays pitcher David Price, Jeter’s 3,431st career hit didn’t even reach the infield dirt. Third baseman Lonnie Chisenhall made a bare-handed attempt but could not come up with the perfectly placed ground ball, allowing Jeter to reach first base safely.

Jeter will likely not advance any farther on the hits list, as he is set to retire at the end of this season. Jeter would need 84 hits by season’s end to surpass Tris Speaker for the No. 5 spot.

The Yankees’ shortstop finished the day 1-for-4 in New York’s 3-0 loss to the Indians.
