Dustin PedroiaThe birthday boy will take a seat for the Boston Red Sox’s series finale.

Dustin Pedroia, who turns 31 on Sunday, is not in the lineup for Boston’s final contest against the Houston Astros at Fenway Park. Pedroia left Friday night’s game after fouling a ball off his foot in the third inning, but was back in the lineup for Saturday night’s 10-7 win.

Taking Pedroia’s place at second base will be Brock Holt, who will bat leadoff.

Mike Napoli will also get the day off, taking a seat in favor of newly acquired infielder Kelly Johnson, who will play first base and bat fifth. Daniel Nava will play right field and slide into the second spot in the order.

After getting the night off on Saturday, Will Middlebrooks will return to third base and bat seventh.

Recent call-up Dan Butler will get the call behind home plate to make his third career MLB start, taking over catching duties in place of Christian Vazquez and hitting ninth.

Butler’s battery mate will be Joe Kelly, who is still looking for his first win in a Red Sox uniform despite two solid outings in his first two appearances since being traded from the St. Louis Cardinals on July 31.
