The “Madden NFL” video game franchise has come a long way since 1988 when it was still called “John Madden Football,” and YouTube user Michael Bromberg decided to show this in a cool and unique way.

Bromberg made a video showing the evolution of the video game, but he did it using the play-by-play of a two-minute drive in the 1998 NFC Wild Card game between the Green Bay Packers and San Francisco 49ers. It features John Madden himself and the late Pat Summerall.

It’s interesting to see how “Madden” went from an 8-bit video game to one so realistic that it features Eli Manning’s “Manning Face.”
