University of Nebraska head football coach Bo Pelini took the college football uniform unveiling to a new level on Friday morning.

The Nebraska head man recently said the Cornhuskers would have a new “Red Rising” alternate uniform this season, and he made that official on Friday as he was the one who unveiled and modeled Nebraska’s new duds. Pelini did so at a team meeting, as he dressed in full uniform to give his squad the first look at the all-red ensemble.

The new Adidas uni is made with the company’s “TECHFIT” material, which claims it makes players more difficult to tackle.

“The adidas TECHFIT Shockweb uniform is the only true compression uniform system in the industry,” said a statement on the team’s website. “Shockweb fits tighter to the body, making players more difficult to tackle. TECHFIT Shockweb is lighter, helping to make the player fast and increasing his range of motion, to support the athlete’s performance at the highest levels.”

The UCLA Bruins will also wear TECHFIT uniforms this season.

Nebraska will wear the new jerseys against Illinois at the homecoming game on Sept. 27.
