Now that Rusney Castillo has been granted his work visa, the question is when he’ll make his way up to the Boston Red Sox.
The Boston Globe’s Nick Cafardo said that time likely will come in mid-September.
The Cuban outfielder has been working out in Fort Myers, Fla., and could see game action in the Gulf Coast League as early as Sunday. Castillo also should be able to gain some experience either with Triple-A Pawtucket or Double-A Portland during their minor league playoff runs.
