The defensive tackle was released by the New England Patriots, but ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Wednesday that Kelly has signed a one-year contract with the Arizona Cardinals.

Kelly was one of three defensive veterans released by the Patriots over the weekend. New England cut ties with Kelly, defensive lineman Will Smith and linebacker James Anderson as part of its ongoing roster cut-down.

Kelly was signed by the Patriots prior to the 2013 season, but his on-field tenure with the team was short-lived. Kelly suffered a knee injury last November and missed the rest of the season.

The 33-year-old appeared in 16 games with the Oakland Raiders in 2012. He registered 45 combined tackles to go along with one sack that season.
