DrakeToronto Raptors global ambassador and rapper Drake has put the team in some hot water.

Drake held a concert in Toronto earlier this month and Oklahoma City Thunder superstar Kevin Durant just happened to be in attendance. Drake made comments to the crowd about recruiting Durant to Toronto, which seemed harmless enough. The NBA felt otherwise, and fined the Raptors $25,000 for the comments that violated the league’s anti-tampering rules, according to an ESPN report.

“Before we leave, I just want to show one of my brothers something,” Drake said during the concert, via ESPN.com. “You know, my brother Kevin Durant was kind enough to come to the show tonight and watch us. I just want him to see what would happen if he came to play in Toronto. Let him know what would happen.”

Those types of comments are now a no-no for Drake, though, now that he technically works for the Raptors.

The crowd was still enthused by Drake’s comments and started a “KD” chant before the next song. Durant does not become an unrestricted free agent until after the 2015-16 season.
