Packers To Induct Brett Favre Into Team Hall Of Fame, Retire No. 4

The Green Bay Packers and Brett Favre might end up putting the past to rest and letting bygones be bygones.

After Favre’s tumultuous breakup with the team, ESPN’s Rob Demovsky reports that the Packers will announce on Monday in a joint press conference with Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame Inc. that the team will induct Favre into its Hall of Fame and retire his No. 4 jersey.

It’s been six years since Favre retired and then later un-retired to play for the New York Jets, creating plenty of drama and storylines throughout the summer of 2008.

The bad breakup rubbed many Packers fans the wrong way, and Favre put more salt on the wound after he left the Jets to play for Green Bay’s NFC North rival, the Minnesota Vikings, in 2009.

But time heals all wounds.

The Packers won a Super Bowl without him, while Favre finally made up his mind and retired for good.

Now, the two sides seem to be reuniting in what will surely be an emotional moment for the Wrangler-wearing quarterback.

UPDATE (12:00 a.m.): Favre has confirmed the report, issuing a statement on his website.
