PGA: AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-AmDustin Johnson’s voluntary leave of absence from the PGA Tour might have something to do with his future father-in-law, Wayne Gretzky.

FOX411 reported that Gretzky told Johnson to curb his partying or else Johnson no longer would have his blessing to marry his daughter, Paulina. The hockey legend reportedly wanted to help and offer advice, though.

Johnson and Paulina Gretzky have been dating since 2012 and engaged since August 2013. Their wedding was planned for the fall of 2014, but the couple postponed it in May because of Johnson’s golf schedule.

Johnson took a voluntary leave of absence on July 31, and the PGA insists he wasn’t suspended. Golf.com reported that Johnson’s lifestyle has been well-known throughout the golf community, alleging that he tested positive for marijuana in 2009 and cocaine in 2012 and 2014. He also reportedly broke up at least one marriage because of affairs with players’ wives.

Johnson reportedly is spending his time away from the Tour by caddying for Paulina and playing golf in Idaho.
