Rob Gronkowski missed the New England Patriots’ first preseason game and he’s still limited in practice, but it won’t be long before fans see him getting some meaningful action on the field.
The tight end has yet to participate in seven-on-seven or 11-on-11 drills, but he is confident in his rehab progression.
“I’m getting closer every single day to being with the team,” Gronkowski said.
Gronk practiced on Sunday but only took part in individual drills and one-on-ones with the defense. Despite his limited role, the Pro Bowler is at least happy to have someone covering him to give his routes in practice an in-game feel.
There’s still a long time until the Patriots’ first game against the Miami Dolphins in South Florida, but if things continue to go well for Gronk, we just might see him in Week 1.
