Shawn Thornton won’t suit up for the Bruins this season, but Boston still is near and dear to his heart.
The former Bruins forward joined WEEI radio at the WEEI/NESN Jimmy Fund Radio-Telethon on Wednesday, and unsurprisingly, he found another way to endear himself to the city. Thornton and his foundation gave a wonderful parting gift to Boston, donating $50,000 to the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber.

Thornton, who’s now with the Florida Panthers, also talked some hockey with the guys, so check out more of his interview in the video above.
