Mookie BettsBoston Red Sox fans will have to wait a little longer to get their first look at newly-acquired outfielder Yoenis Cespedes.

Cespedes, who came to Boston in the blockbuster deal that sent Jon Lester and Jonny Gomes to the Oakland Athletics on Thursday, is not in the lineup for Friday’s game against the New York Yankees.

But one new face will make his debut with the Red Sox against the Bronx Bombers, as Allen Craig will get the start in left field and bat fifth. Craig was acquired in the trade that sent John Lackey to the St. Louis Cardinals.

Mookie Betts, who has been recalled from Triple-A Pawtucket, will start in center field, while third baseman Will Middlebrooks will also return to the lineup after missing over two months with a broken finger, and bat seventh.

With Stephen Drew off to the visiting Yanks, Xander Bogaerts will make his return to shortstop and bat sixth.

A new guy will also toe the rubber for the Red Sox, as rookie right-hander Anthony Ranaudo is set to make his major-league debut, starting in place for the departed Lackey. Ranuado will face off against former Boston reliever Chris Capuano.
